Serial Killer Vibes on Flintstone
⚠️ Caution Buena Users ⚠️: So, I'm pedaling up Flintstone this evening. I get about 3/4 of the way up Flintstone, to the spot in the trail where there is a flat area that is pretty free of vegetation. And as I get there, there is the dark colored SUV parked on the left side of the trail perpendicular to it. Never having seen a vehicle anywhere before on Flintstone, and knowing it is almost impossible to get a vehicle to that location, I decide to slow down and chec

Los Burros, 8:00 a.m. Saturday/BV Progress
Saturday Morning Ride: Hey there everyone, hope you are having an excellent week. Last weekend our group ride had us out in the Buena Vista Saturday morning. We covered about fifteen miles and had a great group of riders. With Max the "wonder dog" out front most of the time, we were able to explore some paths a little less traveled these days. Sheryl Teske rides past the "Dome Rock" in the Buena during the group ride on Saturday, April 11th. This week, we will be making

Saturday 4/11, Morning BV Ride, 8:00 a.m., STBVF Meeting Agenda
Saturday Morning Ride: Hey mountain bikers! Wow, what a great ride we had last Saturday out in the Snowflake-Taylor trails. Led by our Snowflake-Taylor curators, we got a nice tour of their trail system. We also had the opportunity to see what a tandem mountain bike piloted by Ben and Kim Dugdale could to out there. Yeah, I know, aren't some of those turns tight for a tandem? Well yeah, but it depends on who's riding the tandem in question. These two handled it w

Saturday Morning Group MTB Ride, Snowflake, 8:00 a.m.
Saturday Group Ride: Well, how about that? Some actual seasonably appropriate temperatures and some actual rain today! Just what we needed to help get some of the dust calmed down on our local trails. Give them a day or two, but it should make for some hero dirt for a view days and nice riding conditions this weekend. Mike Godwin and a miscellaneous trail marker our in Snowflake last summer . We have a plan for Saturday morning. We are going to go ride the Snowflake

Saturday Ride Information/STBVF Annual Meeting
Group Ride 3/28, 7:00 a.m.: Hey Everyone! What a great ride we had last week for our first official group ride of the year. The turnout was awesome, the weather made it feel like mid-summer (less any leaves on the oak trees), and we did some "creative" routing to see some things we normally wouldn't. Petrified awaits this weekend! Let's keep the momentum going! This Saturday, we'll plan to ride the Buena Vista again starting at 7:00 a.m. Yes, I know, it is awfull

Sign Painting Party Cancelled on Sunday
No Signs to Paint!: Sorry everyone, but the sign painting party we scheduled for this coming Sunday needs to be cancelled. We were anticipating the delivery of the second half of the signs we have ordered to arrive this week, but they aren't going to make it in on time after all. No signs to paint = to sign painting party. There's a good chance the event will be rescheduled next week, so stay tuned! And thanks for everyone that has volunteered to help out. STBVF a

1st Official BV Group Ride of 2026
Kicking off The Season: Well boys and girls, we just can't hold back any longer. While the weather has been beautiful, we've been hesitant to start posting weekly Saturday morning rides for fear that winter could show up. But winter just obviously isn't happening.. Saturday's forecast is more befitting June than March, with a predicted high of 80 degrees. There's only one thing to do. Start riding! Carol Godwin and Alesha Cornejo converse at Old Scott Tank wh

Buena Vista Trail Signs: Volunteers Needed
Trail Signs Underway: Well, it has been a productive few weeks for Save The Buena Vista Foundation and for TRACKS! Yes, after ten years, we are making preparations to being trail work this spring. Part of that process is making signs for the new trail system. TRACKS President Steve Dobbs rolling out the lumber that will become our Buena Vista trail signs on March 2nd, 2026. We are creating about 60 new wooden signs that will be posted to guide users around the stacked

A Winter Update from Walter on the Buena
Update on USFS Approval of Trail System: We really believe that we are within 60 days of getting a Decision Letter, which is the final approval from the forest service to build out the Buena Vista per the STBVF/TRACKS trail proposal and being cleared to start posting signs. Some final edits are being made on the archeological study in the area, and those should be sent to the USFS office within the next week. At that point. the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO)
