Saturday Ride, 10/17: This coming Saturday, our group ride will be held out at Los Burros for some fall colors! The aspens at Los Burros are usually beautiful this time of year and it really is worth the drive out to go see them.

Meet at the Los Burros trailhead #2 off of the Vernon-McNary Road (not the campground) at 8:00 a.m. for an approximate 14-mile MTB ride. Los Burros is an intermediate level trail, so bring that skill set along. It will probably be a little chilly (as appropriate) in the morning, but should warm up quickly. We should be finished up by about 10:00 a.m.

Buena Vista Trails Ribbon-Cutting Roundup: Thanks so much to everyone who turned out for the Buena Vista's official ribbon-cutting event last week! The event was well attended at came off without a hitch. It was fun to get to celebrate with all of our partners and make things official! We had a wonderful remarks from multiple people during the event, including District Ranger Charlie Denton and Peggy Lund.

Chihuahua Pines Trail Work 10/19: TRACKS is organizing a final day of trail building for the Chihuahua Pines Connector on Monday, October 19th. It has been hard to get much done lately due to the wet conditions since we were last out on October 5th, but nevertheless we anticipate being able to finish up the trail well enough to open it up at the conclusion of our work.

If at all possible, please come out and help us Monday. Trail crew will be meeting at 8:00 a.m. in the parking lot beside Arby's in Show Low. Due to muddy roads in the Buena area, we will carpool from there down to the U.S. 60 underpass over the top of Chihuahua Pines, and hike up from there. Due to limited parking being available near the overpass, carpooling is very important. Be sure to bring water, sunscreen, and any favorite personal trail tools you like to use.

Downed Tree Alert: We have been alerted to multiple downed trees from the storms earlier this week that need chainsaw work. We know of downed trees on Buena Vista in the old Uncle Tom's and Trailfairies sections, one on Grindstone, and more on Flintstone at around FL3.. We'll try to police the area as a whole by the end of the upcoming weekend and address the snags that need to be removed.
