Wagon Wheel Trail Access Construction/Saturday Ride Information

Wagon Wheel Lane Road Construction: To let everyone know, the roads around the Wagon Wheel Lane trail access that many people utilize will be under construction for a bit. This is a repaving project that will involve repaving Wagon Wheel Lane itself and some of the adjoining streets. Construction began yesterday with the pavement at the trail access and Taurus being pulled up leaving the area down to the bare dirt.

It would be wise try to avoid this area if you can for the next several weeks at least so that parked vehicles are not in the way of Navajo County's contracted construction crews who will be working in the area. Most likely this is not going to be an issue on the weekends or after normal working hours, but we definitely don't want cars parked there during weekdays or anytime crews are present in the area. The good news is, of course, that the road that badly needed maintenance is finally getting attention and we'll have a smoother ingress/egress when the project is finished!

Saturday Ride 7/12/25: This Saturday, the group MTB ride will be back home in the the Buena Vista Trailsystem. Meet at the U.S. 60 trail entrance about two miles south of Show Low at 7:00 a.m. for a 12-15 mile ride in the Buena. It's an intermediate level ride so plan on packing those skills along with you. This is always a medium-paced group ride that stops at all significant trail intersections so that the group stays together and nobody gets lost.

We should finish this ride up right around 9:00 or a just a little bit after. It's been getting hot early! So pack along plenty of hydration and electrolytes!
