Volunteers Needed!/Saturday Group Ride
Volunteers Needed for New Blue Ridge Trail
Really good news to share! The machine-built trail to create a short loop on the Blue Ridge Trail has been completed. Big thanks to Sean Gregory and Big Loop Trails for getting that done! It is 100% rideable both up and down and includes several features that will be very interesting to mountain bikers including many bermed corners, drops and jumps.

Now that the machine work is done, TRACKS has a substantial amount of finish work to do in order to make this look pretty and ride its best. So . . . on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27th at 7:30 a.m. the TRACKS crew is meeting at Blue Ridge Trailhead #2 to work on this project. It would be awesome if we had a huge mountain biking group who show up and can give a half-day to helping bring this trail together. Bring your bikes too!!!!! We want to ride what has been built when we are done!!!!!!!! The idea would be to have a mountain biking crew working down from the top and the TRACKS regulars working up from the bottom.
If you can come, please remember to bring water, snacks, sunscreen, etc. If you have your personal tools you like to use, please bring those along too (TRACKS has quite a few as well if you don't have tools).
Saturday Group Ride
Last week's group at Land of the Pioneers trail was an absolute blast! Thanks to Mike and Carol for leading our group of twelve around the Director's cut which highlighted much of the local history of the area.
Last week's group of twelve out at the old Vernon Cabin at Land of the Pioneers
This week our usual Saturday group ride will held back on our home turf, the Buena Vista Trail. Meet at 7:00 a.m. for a twelve to fifteen-mile ride, with the exact route to be determined once we are there. For those that have not been there before, intermediate MTB skills are recommended for this ride. But this will be a pretty casual-paced social ride. We've never lost anyone on a group ride, and we don't expect to start now. Riding with friends is the best way to ride, so we hope to see a big group out there!
Meet at the Buena Vista trailhead south of Show Low on Highway 60 at 7:00 a.m. It should be sunny and 55 degrees at ride time and 65 degrees by the time we finish sometime around 9:30. Gonna be a lovely day for a ride!
