Saturday Ride 5/2/26: It's hump day folks, and that means it is time to start thinking about your weekend plans. Obviously, mountain biking is at the top of the priority list, so thoughts turn to our Saturday morning ride.

This weekend we've got something a little bit different for you: A loop ride starting from the Panorama trailhead. We'll be riding the Flume Connector, a portion of the Timber Mesa trail, the Sawmill Connector, and then finishing the loop with running the south side of the Panorama trail. All told, it's about a 12.5 ride.. It's a great little ride, a little technical in a spot or two on Timber Mesa and Sawmill Connector. And the ride does include one little section on Flume that requires a few hundred foot hike-a-bike for most folks due to it being steep and loose.. Still, it is a safe ride for anyone with intermediate MTB skills. There is an option, for those a little more ambitious, to extend this to almost a twenty-mile ride by doing the balance of the Panorama trail at the end of the ride.

A rider negotiates a little technical section on Sawmill on a group ride last year held on May 31, 2025.

So, the plan is to depart at 8:00 a.m. at the Panorama trailhead. The ride will probably take about two hours, given that we will stop at major trail intersections to make sure nobody gets lost and to gather the group back together periodically. See you Saturday morning!
