Sunshine Trail Work Underway: The TRACKS trail crew formally started work on the "Sunshine" trail on Monday, June 22. The crew is making good progress out there, and we believe one good work day will allow us to finish the trail, which connects Rainbows to the newly configured Buena Vista trail

The TRACKS trail crew will be working on Sunshine again on the morning of Monday, June 29. They are meeting at the Buena Vista Trailhead at 7:00 a.m. If you can help, please come out and do so. Bring plenty of water!

Saturday Ride: The Saturday morning group ride this week is going to be in the Buena Vista area. Yes, we see the forecast, and yes, it is going to be super windy on Saturday! But we'll get up and get out early before the worst of it. Meet at the Buena Vista trailhead at 7:00 a.m. for a twelve to fifteen mile ride. This is an intermediate level mountain bike ride, but we'll be stopping regularly to keep our group together. So nobody is going to get dropped! Saturday morning rides are all about being friendly and social, and that's exactly what we do. So if you haven't come out and ridden with us in a while, please come out and do so. We should be back at the trailhead around 9:00 a.m. or just a little thereafter.

There are new things to ride since the last time we visited Buena, with the Rainbows trail having been completed and the Sunshine build well underway. We had a great group ride out at Los Burros last weekend, and are sure this one will be equally as good.

July 5th Trail "Give-Back" Day: Our previous Buena Vista "Trail Give-Back Day" a few weeks ago was such a success we are going to repeat the same on the weekend of July 4th. On Sunday July 5th, we'll be working on a re-route of the Flintstone loop. Similar to when we worked on Differential a few weeks ago, we are doing this to avoid an area of archeological interest we need to avoid on the old "El Cucuy" section of Flintstone. We'll be clearing the trail corridor, build the new re-route, and close the old section of trail we are trying to avoid. All on the same day!

Meet at the Buena Vista trailhead at 7:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 5th. You can bring your own tool(s) if you like, but we'll have the TRACKS tools present for everyone to use. You just need to bring yourself, your work gloves, and plenty of liquids to drink while we do the work. The tools will be transported to the work site, meaning that if you want, you can ride your bike to the work location from the trailhead. We'd actually recommend that option, as it will reduce the number of vehicles we need to get to the work site as parking would be limited.
