Saturday Ride 10/15, Halloween Ride

Saturday Morning Ride, 10/15. We'll be doing a group MTB ride again on Saturday morning in the Buena Vista Trails. Meet at the Buena Vista trailhead off of U.S. 60 at 8:00 a.m. Typical 12-15 mile moderate-paced ride, intermediate MTB skills recommended. We should be back at the trailhead by about 10:00 a.m. If you've seen the forecast, you'd be better not waiting to ride until Saturday afternoon or on Sunday. It looks like a total washout after Saturday morning, so get while the getting is good. The leaves are now changing, so this is a chance to enjoy some fall color! As the White Mountain Composite team will attest, as they've been riding them hard this week, the trails are in great shape too!

The Great Pumpkin Ride:

STBVF will be doing a ride for Halloween on Saturday, October 29th at 6:30 p.m. The ride will be very "kid-friendly," only about five miles in total, and will cover pretty gentle terrain on Below-the-B'Backs, Uncle Tom's, Roughneck, and Sierra Game Trail. Pace will be . . . "leisurely." This is for kids and kids at heart. We've started decorating the trails in preparation for the event in an effort to make them sufficiently horrifying, but we could use help if you have anything you'd like to add please have at it (just make sure you retrieve anything large that you bring out so that it does not become trail litter). Helmets required on any kiddos, but otherwise costumes are certainly acceptable for the event . . . just remember they can't be dangly things that can get caught up in a bike chain or wheels.. The ride should be done by 7:30 or 8:00 p.m. Carol Godwin will likely have Halloween treats for everyone at the end of our ride . . . and no, Halloween treats don't count against your diet. That's what the bike ride is for. More details as we get closer to the event.
