Los Burros Saturday

Saturday Morning Ride!: Looks like the show is on the road this weekend and our Saturday morning ride is at Los Burros! Meet at the Los Burros trailhead at the back of the Los Burros campground at 7:00 a.m. for a 12-15 mile ride. Los Burros is a White Mountains classic! If you've not been there, it sports a somewhat different climate and vegetation from most of the rest of the White Mountains Trail System (WMTS), it has some great lung-busting climbs, fast and fun descents, and great scenery!

This is an intermediate level ride, although a shortcut trail does exist that would cut the length of this trail in about half if someone comes along and decides they don't quite have the juice for the whole enchilada. This is just a fun and social no-drop ride, meaning you won't get left alone in the woods to fend for yourself.

For directions, see the TRACKS website: https://trackswhitemountains.org/take-a-hike/los-burros-631/

Come See STBVF at the Leave No Trace Event: STBVF will have a booth at the White Mountain Nature Center off of Woodland Lake Road this coming Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. White Mountain Nature Center is located at 425 S. Woodland Rd., Pinetop-Lakeside, AZ. Help celebrate our trails, the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests, out beautiful White Mountains, and all the organizations and agencies that help protect and preserve them for current and future generations.

In addition to the events going on, this is an opportunity for the mountain bike community to let USFS officials know what they want to see in our local trail systems going forward. Whether that includes advocacy for more single track rather than roads, progressive features, ebikes, whatever . . . USFS officials will be there to hear your input. This is also a great opportunity to thank them for their help in cutting the new Blue Ridge short loop approved and for their progess in helping us with the Buena Vista system!
