LOP Saturday Group Ride/STBVF Board Meeting

This is the Redneck Alps. We'll spell how we darned well please!

Land of the Pioneers Saturday. This week we'll be taking the show on the road for our group ride, We are heading out to Land of the Pioneers Saturday morning for a change of scenery. If you haven't been there, the LOP is rich with the history of Arizona's pioneering days with several historical sites to visit. We only get out there a few times every year due to the distance, but it is well worth the travel time.

Meet at the LOP trailhead at 7:00 a.m. for a 10-15 mile ride on the LOP "Director's Cut." This is a no-drop social ride with a moderate pace. Intermediate MTB skills are recommended.

If you haven't been out to LOP before, here are directions from the TRACKS website:

Access to Trail: From Show Low travel east on AZ 60 for 19.4 miles. Turn south on AP 3140 (Vernon-McNary Road), through Vernon then west on FR 5 for .5 miles. Trailhead is on the right.

From Pinetop go south on AZ 260 (White Mountain Hwy) and then east to McNary. In McNary turn left (north) on Cady Ave, which continues on as AP 3140 (Vernon-McNary Road). Go a little over 18 miles, then left on FR 5 for .5 miles to the trailhead.

We sure hope to see everyone out there!
