Trails Dry -- Back in the Buena This Saturday A.M.

Saturday Morning Group Ride: Looks like the strong monsoon pattern we've been in is finally letting up! We actually have a clear forecast for this coming weekend, with a high of 88 on Saturday afternoon. The trails in the Buena have mostly dried up and they need to be ridden back in!

Obviously, the best thing to do is have a big old group MTB ride Saturday morning to accomplish that objective. Meet at 7:00 a.m. at the Buena Vista trailhead off of U.S. 60. 12-15 mile social group ride with no drops. We should finish up the ride about 9:00 a.m. before the forecast heat has a chance to get us.

Jersey Sales Pre-Order is Closed: The STBVF/Walter jersey pre-sale is now closed. We have 53 pre-ordered shirts which should arrive at the end of October. Thanks so much to everyone who placed a pre-order! As a thank you, STBVF is going to be providing a free 3x3 round STBVF sticker with the same image on the front of the shirt to everyone who placed a pre-order! Your help is truly appreciated. If you did happen to miss the pre-order and want an STBVF jersey there will be a very limited supply of them available for purchase at Cycle Mania after the shirts come in.

Heritage Study Estimate: We received an estimate this last week for the cost of having a qualified private contractor from Tempe come to do our Heritage Study in the Buena Vista. The cost of that is about $900 per mile for about 18.5 miles, or pretty much close $17,000. Signage at all the intersections will probably cost several thousand more dollars. While jersey sales help us with that, the fact is that our margin of profit is only about $20-$25.00 per shirt. So it helps, but only so much. If you know local businesses or individuals that are interested in becoming a sponsor please put them in contact with us. We'll be happy to make sure sponsors that donate $1,000 or more are mentioned on special trail maps we will have made for the Buena Vista area once we have it done, thank them for their participation on our website, and make sure they are announced at a large gravel ride we are planning to sponsor to raise money for the Buena in the summer of 2023.
