Summer's Last Gasp/Saturday Ride Information

Summer Slips Away: You can feel it in the air even though the humidity of the monsoon season hasn't quite left us yet. Summer has one more week with us; but it is meekly slipping out the door like the sun falling beneath the horizon. And you know what that means. The arrival of fall. Cooler drier air. The fall colors. The sound of fall leaves crunching under your bike tires or hiking boots. Getting to sleep in a little later because there's no need to fear the heat when you go outside. The weather is finally not too cold, not too windy, and not too wet. And time to start raking the needles and leaves and cleaning our your gutters (well, OK, maybe fall does have a drawback).

But you get the point. We are just now coming into what is, in my opinion, the best time of year to spend time outdoors in the White Mountains. And even if summer wasn't all you might have liked it to be from a "getting outdoors" point of view, a new season is a new opportunity to make the most of where we live, have our second home, or just visit! So . . .

Saturday Ride, 9/17/22, 8:00 a.m.: In that vein . . . our very last group MTB ride of the summer season will be this Saturday, starting later, at 8:00 a.m. We'll meet at the Buena Vista trailhead off of U.S. 60 south of Show Low with a plan to tackle about 12-15 miles of single-track. Intermediate MTB skills recommended. Nice social paced "no-drop" ride. So don't be afraid to come join us and get a jump on the fall riding season! Riding with friends makes everything more fun.
